This movie is really funny while its not amazing I'm just rating it a 10 to get the score up bit id still give it a 7 or 8 It shouldn't get this amount of hate its funny energetic and just great fun i loved this movie and want to see as soon as possible please go support this film it needs to be watched to be judged by itself don't listen to the trolls I'm done with them trying to hurt someone career just because they don't agree with her political views. Whatever she hates Trump so does more then half of America!!! GO SEE IT PLEASEE!!
Much better than expected (by janets_freak)
This movie is a comedy. I don't expect a movie like this to have a perfect script. It's there to make people laugh and have a good time. How many hundreds of terrible, cringe-worthy films have there been in the last 30 years where the main characters are men? None of them would have an average rating of 2.3, because women don't give a s***. If they don't like a movie, they'll simply not go see it. But this movie, for some reason, people feel the need to trash it just because they hate Amy Schumer.Amy Schumer is back with a new movie. In contrast to her debut, this film <more>
focuses on a mother-daughter relationship. Amy plays a self- involved, unaware, sassy woman who finds herself with her mom on vacation because she had no alternative. As mother and daughter are enjoying their vacation, each in her own way, we meet a possible love-interest who changes the story line dramatically. We suddenly go from light, fun comedy to dark, twisted thriller. Amy's character, however, manages to lighten things up now and then to remind us that this is still a comedy. Fun strangers played by Wanda Sykes and Christopher Meloni make appearances. Their motives are not obvious or predictable, which keeps things interesting.If you don't enjoy Amy Schumer's humor, this movie is obviously not for you. The movie does not target the male demographic, and why should it? My friend and I really enjoyed it and were somewhat surprised by that. Perfect movie for a night out with a girlfriend to enjoy a good laugh.
Why do you go to see an R-rated comedy? If your reasons include to laugh out loud, be shocked a bit, and marvel at well-known, respected actors you've loved in the past doing and saying things you never thought you'd see on screen and clearly having a ball doing so , "Snatched" is for you. The title should be a clue: In short, if you like your comedy safe, sterile, and restrained, where you titter mildly rather than guffaw, stay far, far away. Here are hints at just a couple of the many truly funny moments: an out-there mistaken interpretation of someone with a heavy accent <more>
saying "Welcome" and Amy Schumer battling with a, umm, pesky worm. And I wasn't alone--the audience around me on opening night was also losing it, en masse, laughing hysterically and loudly at times. I was entertained throughout the entire 90-minute running time, and the cast of supporting players played a big part in keeping the amusing-to-hilarious comic mayhem momentum going, including standouts Joan Cusack, Wanda Sykes, Christopher Meloni why does he do anything but comedy--he has such a gift for it that it's actually sad to me he's spent so much of his career doing heavy--and I mean heavy--drama , Ike Barinholtz and Randall Park. But I also have to say everyone it's a huge cast in this film helps create the ongoing atmosphere of comic peril--there wasn't a weak moment for me, and I realize the entire cast made that happen, in even the smallest roles. Heading it all with expert comedic total abandon are Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, and the film reminds those of us who've been around almost as long as Goldie just how much we miss her in film comedies--the ending of the film in particular is especially gratifying for us longtime fans, as it's a well-deserved lovefest/celebration of her and her beloved on-screen joyous energy. Please, Goldie, come back to film comedy, and often . I left the theater still laughing, and am giggling at recalled moments this morning as I write this as well. Comedy is not easy--in fact, I truly believe it's harder to make a good comedy than a good drama--and "Snatched" delivers.
This movie is so funny i just don't see why its getting so much hate! I can understand a 6 at lowest but a 2.6 come on you know people r judging it based off Amy not the actual merit/ quality of the movie! Its very funny shocking and a great summer adventure: Go see it with your mom for mothers day If your old enough that is ;
made me laugh out loud (by sturtevant3)
I went to see the movie with 4 other women. The audience was made up of couples and groups of women. I laughed out loud several times as did the young women to old and the men. I was very entertained, very happy I went to this film as I don't go to many at the theater anymore. There is slapstick humor, gutter humor, and touching moments. I would recommend it highly. Amy, Goldie, Wanda and Joan were hilarious.
Very Enjoyable Movie; Hawn and Schumer are a Great Team (by bbrebozo)
I went into this movie with very low expectations. The IMDb rating the day I went to the theater was 2.7, and I'd never seen a film on IMDb with such a low rating before. Even the worst movie ever made, Plan 9 From Outer Space, has a 4.0 rating, for goodness sake.So I was surprised to find that the movie was a very pleasant comic adventure. Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer are perfectly cast as mother and daughter. Hawn was in the unusual position of playing a frumpy character, and of course she's terrific. But Amy Schumer displayed surprising acting chops, including as tearful daughter as <more>
well as terrified hostage. And she still has her strong comic edge, with one of the funniest topless scenes I've ever seen in a film.The supporting cast was very effective. Wanda Sykes and Joan Cusack are a team of very weird fellow tourists that get involved in the adventure, and the cadre of evil villains is terrifying.It wasn't just me, the audience in the theater with me also seemed to be having a great time.I'm not sure how to explain all the negative reviews. Perhaps some of them are due to the fact that, at this writing May 2017 , there is an Internet army of little boys who are using their daddies' computers to attack anything that Schumer does. Don't let a basement-dwelling lynch mob talk you out of a very enjoyable film-going experience. If Hawn and Schumer team up on another movie, I'm going.
Amazing little jokes and big surprises! (by asoapboxopera)
I loved this movie and went into it expecting to dislike it, because the trailer seemed so-so. Instead, the move delivered some excellent insights into family dynamics, funny commentary on Americans traveling abroad to superficially see the world, and true fear, all juxtaposed with great surprises and funny turns.I really, truly enjoyed this movie, and I think you will too.
a great combination of comic actors - and a very funny film (by dave-mcclain)
The similarities between Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, the stars of the 2017 action comedy "Snatched" R, 1:30 , are fairly obvious, but they took pretty different paths to meeting in this movie. Both women are pretty blondes who have made careers out of making their fans laugh and developed their comedy stylings in sketch comedy TV shows. That's how Hawn started out – in the late 1960s "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" , but she soon moved on to movies, earning an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 1970 and an Oscar nomination in 1981. Her adorable-funny later gave way <more>
to her humorous takes on being a mature woman, in movies like "The First Wives Club" 1996 and "The Banger Sisters" 2002 and then she took a 15-year break from movies. After almost a decade as a stand-up comedian, Schumer hit it big with her own sketch comedy show "Inside Amy Schumer" , which received multiple Emmy nominations and one win Outstanding Variety Sketch Series . Schumer also appeared in several TV shows and then brought her crude-funny to the big screen, in a handful of small roles and then by writing and starring in 2015's "Trainwreck", which earned her nominations from the Writers Guild of America Best Original Screenplay and from the Golden Globes for her performance and for the film as a whole . Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn may have made their comedy bones in different ways and they may have over 35 years between them, but let me tell you what else these award-winning funny women have between them – considerable comic chemistry – and one fearlessly funny film. Emily Middleton Schumer is lost – and that's even before she gets kidnapped in Ecuador. In her 30s, she's working in a clothing store – and not doing a very good job. She has a boyfriend a bearded Randall Park with whom she doesn't seem in sync – or have much in common with at all. She has a contentious relationship with her family – a mother named Linda Hawn , a worry wart / homebody who is overly critical – and a brother named Jeffrey Ike Barinholtz who is a total mama's boy. Oh, and Emily has made plans to take a vacation to Ecuador to take in some Latin American culture, off the beaten path – but she has no one to join her. Her boyfriend dumps her and she can't find a friend with any desire for an adventure in Ecuador. Desperate not to waste her extra ticket and after seeing some pictures of her mom out having fun when she was younger , Emily decides she needs to convince mom to come with. Emily and Linda get themselves to a fancy resort in Ecuador, but Linda just wants to sit by the pool more covered up than your average mummy and Emily sporting a bikini and quickly getting her drink on wants to go out and have fun. On the first night of their vacation, Linda stays in their room reading while Emily is picked up by a handsome local named James Tom Bateman who takes her out on the town. She gets back to her room safely, but very drunk, and Linda is waiting up to criticize. Still, Emily convinces her mother to join her and James on a day trip to see the countryside. What they see are guns and the inside of a locked room where some kidnappers hold them for ransom. However, the ladies turn out to be pretty tough and resourceful. As they fight to survive and escape, they get help from a mysterious American adventurer Christopher Meloni , a couple of paranoid but agile American tourists Wanda Sykes and, in a wordless performance, Joan Cusack as well as, last but kinda least, Jeffrey, who incessantly and inanely pesters a State Department employee Bashir Salahuddin via telephone. But will any of this be enough to save our intrepid adventurers from the clutches of the merciless Morgado Oscar Jaenada and his gang of kidnappers or will this mother and daughter have to save themselves? "Snatched" is one of the funniest comedies of 2017! Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer seem born to play these roles – and to work with each other. Writer Katie Dippold "Ghostbusters", "The Heat" knows where to find the humor behind some estrogen-fueled action and director Jonathan Levine "The Night Before", "50/50", "The Wackness" knows how to get the most out of his talented cast. Schumer and Hawn are in top form and the supporting actors know how to bring the funny. The film's combination of odd-couple protagonists, several wacky characters, laugh-out-loud bawdy comedy, great sight gags, darkly comic cartoonish violence, farcical danger and some good old-fashioned mother-daughter bonding makes for a very entertaining time at the movies – and another terrific line on the resumes of two disparate but highly compatible comic actors. "A-"
For anybody insisting on a serious, factual, documentary covering important events of our day and Oscar performances, this is not for you. If you want to laugh out loud and leave your cares outside for a couple of hours: go enjoy this movie. It's refreshingly funny in my opinion, lighthearted, and just silly. People getting bent out of shape that it's not the "best ever" need to chillax. It's an Amy Schumer movie! Not the true investigation into the meaning of life. Goldie Hawn still has "it", even if her cosmetic enhancements might be a bit distracting in some <more>
of the close ups. She is funny and endearing, especially when they wake up in the cell and she's trying to remain calm reading that magazine. Amy Schumer is hilarious no matter what, and her schtick/routine is still working for her omg the bathroom scene, I cackled I laughed so hard . Don't be boring and wait to watch this at home, grab a girlfriend and go enjoy some laughs. I enjoyed some of the Latin songs they selected and downloaded a few, so there's that too.
