Great Humor, Kids stayed focused Start to End (by jasand-09310)
My kids really wanted to see this movie badly. Usually I then hope the movie doesn't have a long dull spot in the middle where they tune out. Lego Ninjago Movie is a bit different than the regular cartoons but the kids really enjoyed it. They laughed a lot and were glued to it all the way through. As an adult there was enough fun humor along the way and it's Lego; who can't like it : . I'd recommend this for a fun light enjoyable movie that is kid friendly. My kids already want to see it again.
Best movie I see (by noahraddogxd)
The movie was pretty very perfect and the movie has good animation. Especially the end credits 3 frame animation. Watch only one good fight scene and no story elements or any story to follow at all. TBH not a good reboot. No spinjitzu or anything that made the series first 2 seasons great. Me Lloyds only personality?
amazing movie for adults and kids (by connerbrown-58742)
the reason i like this movies is because it has great animation and story the movie had the same characters from the series and also the reason i love this is because its entertaining i think that people should give this movie another chance the movie is great you will see if you don't believe me see it for yourself the movie has great actors like Jackie Chan or Dave Franco it has this is a great movie watch this movie you won't regret it
Good, not as bad as people say from my point of view (by ericmagana)
I think it was great, yes it had a more or less good story, but that isn't the writers' fault because there is so much that's taken from the other Lego movies, feeling so cliché, but the animation is the best of all three so far, mixing Lego and real elements was the coolest thing the last two didn't have, it doesn't have as many jokes as the last two movies, it's not supposed to, and it's really hard to keep both fans of the TV show and new fans because they had to change a lot from it, and also keep some things from it, maybe if people watched the TV show before <more>
watching the movie would understand what I'm talking about, that's why I understand why people doesn't like it as much as the other 2, having to deal with keeping us fans of the show happy and also everyone else is a hard job, so I'm thankful for their work, and also there is some great music in the soundtrack and the voice actors are amazing, some great highlights would be Jackie Chan as sensei Wu , Dave Franco as Lloyd,Zach woods, Michael Peña as Kai and the best is Justin Theroux as Lord Garmadon, he did it great, and his lines really are the best, and the action is unbelievable, it's great that a stunt team recorded all those moves, something that the last 2 movies didn't have, so there are all my reasons to like this movie, and I hope if someone reads this can understand why I really enjoyed the movie and maybe learn to appreciate it a little bit more and change your opinion if possible.
Great movie for father-son cinema trip (by gramyotron)
Walking to cinema with my 5yo I had big doubts if this will not turn on like Lego Batman. An overly dynamic film with nothing but gags. To tell the truth I was physically tired after watching Batman, due to all this chaos that was happening there. Ninjago is totally different movie and as a family movie it works better than previous two Lego movies, maitaining dynamic action sequences. What one NEEDS to know is that this is a complete restart of Ninjago universe like with Spiderman movie series . Although characters are the same, whole story, origin, background is different. Can you imagine <more>
Ninjago without Spinjitzu? You'd better, because only time we will hear about it will be in a joke scene. This is a new generation's dawn of Ninjago. It can easily turn into a series. What I regret is that movie does not relate to TV series. Basically you can be totally fresh in Ninjago universe and go watch this movie. My 5y did not complain though :
I have seen this movie twice now and I wasn't disappointed. Most of my expectations were met. It is one of the most entertaining and enjoyable movies I have ever seen! I am a huge fan of the Lego Ninjago TV series and enjoyed all the references and in- jokes the movie made to it. The first two Lego movies had better story structure but I honestly prefer this movie over the Lego batman movie. In my opinion, this movie is being picked on unfairly by most critics. The story structure is a little all over the place but the pace of the movie is really good. Also, the voice acting is amazing <more>
and the animation, soundtrack and writing is awesome! But I feel the movie would have benefited from giving the other ninja some more character development. The movie was mostly focused on Lloyd and his evil father Garmadon and the other ninja weren't really necessary to that plot. Also the editing was a bit sloppy. All that being said. The movie actually worked. AND IT WAS EPIC!!!!! I enjoyed this movie 10/10 but because of a few plot holes and the strange story structure I rate the movie a 9/10. As someone in their late teens, I highly recommend going to watch the Lego Ninjago movie! It's a movie for all ages! It's got heart. It's hilarious! and the characters are awesome!!!!!
A great film, yet filled with a few noticeable flaws. Still a MUST SEE... (by farzan-19808)
I'm 15 years old, and I can honestly say that this was a good movie. Although some sections of the movie were definitely a bit dry, the fight sequences and voice talent surely made up for it. I've been a Lego Ninjago fan for a long time and this was a good refresher to the brand. Compared to the previous Lego movies, this might not have been the best, however when you compare to other kids movies- this is a pretty nice film. I do feel however that the other ninjas should have been given more of a story and much more character development.
Plenty of laughs and gags (by trinaboice)
Grade: B+In a Nutshell: While this third installment in the Lego movie universe isn't getting the rave reviews that the first two did, I still got a kick out of it and recommend it for families. As a mother of 4 sons who were all obsessed with Legos while growing up, I wish these movies had come out years ago. The jokes and gags fly fast and furiously, making for an energetically, fun time.Uplifting theme: "Some powers you cannot see, and those are the most important powers of all." – Master Wu Jackie Chan "Even if you're different, you can still do great <more>
things." – Master Wu "To be a master, it takes patience, hard work, and courage." – Master Wu Family Love, forgiveness Everyone has a unique talent "You must forget everything you know and see things in a new way." – Master Wu "The strongest weapon is inside you." – Master WuThings I liked: Jackie Chan is currently in two great movies in theaters: this Lego movie for families and The Foreigner DVD for parents only, where he shows impressive dramatic depth. He's so amazing. The beginning and end were super sweet with live action Jackie Chan. Plenty of humor for kids and adults. The visual gags are hilarious. Cat humor. Voice talents include Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Olivia Munn, Fred Armisen, and Michael Pena. Keep watching during the rolling credits at the end for a funny blooper reel with Jackie Chan and to hear the funny "Dance of Doom" lyrics. There's a good dose of the Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker relationship going on for all you Star Wars fans out there.Things I didn't like: Sometimes you can't quite understand what Jackie Chan says because of his thick accent. Some of the jokes are repetitive and tired. The storytelling is uneven, but the target audience for this movie certainly won't care one bit.Tips for parents: Some text messages, so kids who can't read will miss the humorous notes. Lots of Lego fighting. Some potty humor, but not as much as you would think, considering the target audience's age. Strained father/son relationship. Lots of fighting and Lego destruction nothing you haven't already seen when your kids play with Legos. Safe for all ages Lots of current jokes about societyMovie Review Mom @TrinaBoice
The Weakest of the LEGO Movies But Nowhere Close to Terrible (by masonrobledo)
I think we are all familiar with the LEGO Movies by now, the successful and really good the LEGO Movie, everyone loves It and everyone has praised It to be one of the best animated films out there, then LEGO Batman Movie came along and become the best Batman film In years and In my debatable opinion the best of all the LEGO Movies, even If there Is just two.But now there Is a third LEGO Movie coming from one of their most popular brands, Ninjago, I remember collecting these sets from Ninjago back In 2010 and watching half of the TV Show, It was good for what It was but now I think It's <more>
just generic and the sets were above average but still I liked Ninjago. When I heard the next LEGO Movie was about Ninjago I was pretty excited, until recently upon It's US release before we In the UK got It yesterday and received well rather.... mixed reviews, I did grab me attention like how Kingsman: The Golden Circle did, both are next Movies In their franchise and are pretty mixed upon critics, when I was going Into this movie, I still had a open mind but at the same I was pretty nervous, I saw the film twice, one was a early preview and one was one day after It's official UK release which Is today.First viewing of the film was.... good, I liked the movie, It was fun, the animation's great as always, It's funny, It has good voice acting, got some good characters but nowhere near as clever or self aware as the other two, however second screening I liked It a little more then I though from the first time.I'll start with what I liked, first the animation Is just great always, It's fast-paced, It looks like real LEGO, everything Is great, well mostly, not everything Is made out of LEGO here, LEGO Batman did the same, with the fire and water, the first one EVERYTHING was made of LEGO, In Ninjago there's leafs, grass, water, trees, a house and a bridge, there's nothing wrong with It, It just felt a little out of place, I know It's supposed to feel like a kid playing with these but the first has every single thing made out of LEGO, making It stand out, this just feels playing with toys. The plot was straight forward but had a uniqueness to It, with father and son story, where one Is the antagonist and other Is the protagonist and they both have to work together to stop the evil that Is taking over Ninjago, yeah It's just... that, at least the other movies had a funny, clever and touching execution to their stories, this one does as well and It's done good, It's just predictable and really obvious, nothing wrong with that, as long as there Is surprises here and there, this movie doesn't have much of that, even the humour can be kinda hit and miss. The characters are passable, slightly better then they were In the show, even though I haven't seen the rest of the show, I still have questions for this film that I think can have a little more time to focus on which I won't because that would contain spoilers, I like the relationship between Lloyd and Garmadon, It's a father-son relationship that's hateful turned caring, the other characters don't really do much besides Master Wu and Koko, but their just.... there, I like Kai and Nya the most, while the rest are meh...So I'm the end I like this movie perfectly fine, It has great animation, good storytelling and good characters, but It's just... not as brilliant as the other two, It's better then the Emoji Movie, Smurfs: the Lost Village and Boss Baby I'll give ya that, but there are better family films out for sure.So first screening I would of given this a 7.1/10, but now that I have seen It twice, I'll give It a 8.8/10.
